Hope For Howey Memorial Scholarship

Ryan Howey touched the lives of those he knew in many ways, much of these acts went unseen and without recognition. When Ryan saw a problem or saw someone in need, he would help in whatever way he could. The Hope For Howey Memorial Scholarship began out of aspirations to recognize high school students and newly graduated high school students that display similar characteristics.


In our inaugural year of The Hope For Howey Memorial Scholarship, our families, neighborhoods, and world is in need due to the global pandemic, COVID-19 outbreak. Surely, Ryan would have continued loving and helping those around him in whatever ways he could. We want to recognize a student who has helped others and has given hope to those in their community. An ideal candidate will exhibit the qualities of integrity, commitment, quiet leadership/humility, service to others, and inspiring others to do the same. These qualities may be measured quantitatively, but the Hope For Howey Scholarship committee is more focused on the qualitative measures and inspiring effects of the nominee.


Any current or newly graduated high school student who believes they have helped others and given hope during this global pandemic may apply for this scholarship. The student should submit the completed application, with essay, and two references to hope4howey@gmail.com no later than July 4, 2020.


The Hope For Howey Memorial Scholarship committee will select and notify recipients by August 1, 2020. Scholarships will not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, or national origin
